Pretty insane. I think that overall there will be some very blatant privacy issues with that type of marketing. But those are questions that are just arising now and need to be addressed before larger scale retina scanning projects come into existence. As he walked down the Mall and subway the billboards (in public) scanned his retina and recognized him and tailored the advertisements to the most recent purchases he had made.
