How to Get Your Pair of Back to the Future Nikes

Many of you may not know this about me but I am what you call a Snearkerhead. That means that I adore unique looking kicks, especially Nike’s. Now what you do know is that I also love Back to the Future and am crazy about innovation. Put them all together and boom – you have me calling for the one other product we still don’t have, futuristic Nikes.
It seems that someone has championed my cause at the McFLY 2015 project. Michael Maloof has begun the ultimate grassroots project, to petition Nike, demanding the product of the future that was promised to us – today.
In essence all the shoes offer are power laces, simple lighting and making everyone on your block jealous. A continuous charge battery pack similar to the cushioning and dampening system used in the Adidas 1’s could be used. Efficient LEDs could be installed and a small servo-rotor system could be used to pull the laces tight.
The point is that the technology exists now, why wait another 8 years?

These kicks are going to be great…step in and…THATS IT! Genius idea to start a petition for NIKE to start producing these sneakers…The only downfall I forsee, Limited Production= Astronomically high Ebay prices, now that makes me sad.

Andrew W, hey thanks for the comment Baby. Honestly, half of me wants these things to be a general release, which means that they will be available everywhere and mass produced. The other half of me wants them to be limited to a high number of pairs, maybe 10,000 – that way they are still somewhat unique.
Lets just say that if they are ever released I am taking off work to sit in line all night. And your coming with me.
Hope to see you commenting again soon!

@Prija, yeah I tend to stick with Dunks and a few SB’s. I love retro but it’s hard to find remakes that actually look decent.
I would have loved for a pair of the skulls of saigon. I just didn’t seem to have the $650 to throw at em.

I can’t believe no-one has brought these out yet, surely the novelty value alone would make it a worthwhile project for some company to do!

@Zath, you’re telling me. I think Nike would get a ton of press just for making a pair that’s functional. I’m not sure why they haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet.

I mean surely as a premium product…and I mean one with a real premium price would be worth producing, even if it’s to order – if only for celebrities and others with plenty of money to burn!
